The composition of granite and marble is very different.
Granite is an igneous rock that was once a molten mass called magma. Granite is the preferred material to use for memorials or flooring because of its durability. Granite has been chosen for external use because it is more durable than marble and will maintain good looks for hundreds of years. Granite will not oxidize and deteriorate and thereby maintains good looks for many years. The laser etching process allows us to etch beautiful, complex and intricate images of motifs, logos and photos into the surface of the granite.
Marble is created by a concentration of bones and shells of sea creatures that build up a deposit of lime. Therefore, marble is not nearly as hard as granite and is best to be displayed inside. Marble has been chosen for internal uses because the grain structure of marble allows us to laser etch images with slightly higher clarity and definition than granite.
Granite and marble are natural stones.
Therefore, stones might
have slight imperfections.
